TROUBLESHOOTING
Hopefully, you won’t need to check this page, but
if you do, here are a few of the most common dowsing problems
that crop up for new and intermediate with suggestions of
how you might overcome them.
My dowsing was working fine but now
the responses are going wrong.
This problem can manifest in various ways.
Some people feel as though some external force is messing
around with the pendulum; others feel that there’s a pattern
to the “error messages” too; others think that they’ve probably
just done enough dowsing for one day.
A couple of points are worth checking
here. Firstly, where are you standing or sitting? I have
sometimes found this to be related to strong earth energies
in the vicinity where one is dowsing. Moving off a line
may be all it takes to re-set your responses.
Secondly, it may indeed be that you’ve
just overdone it a bit. In the beginning in particular,
it can be quite draining to maintain the “relaxed concentration”
frame of mind, not to mention ensuring that your personal
energy remains high, and that you may be dowsing strong
energies. Gradually your stamina will increase, but you
will also begin to recognise the signals that it’s time
to stop dowsing. Take a break.
Always make a point of finishing any dowsing
session by asking for a positive energy spot so that you
may replenish and of your own chi (energy) that may have
been zapped by detrimental energies of any kind.
I’m not tired or sitting anywhere odd
but the answers that I’m getting just don’t make sense.
Dowsing is a tool that works on a need-driven
basis; it works wonderfully in situations where you have
a genuine need to know the answer and don’t have another
route into it. However, if you spend your time “playing”
with questions and answers, you’re quite likely to find
that dowsing doesn’t like to play games. This is probably
one of the reasons that “Dowsing Tests” organised by sceptics
don’t work well; the dowsers don’t need to know where X
is. On the other hand, a water diviner out in a field with
a boring rig waiting on his final decision most certainly
does have a need to know where the best position for a bore-hole
is.
Once you’ve got the basics, try using
dowsing in a way that is genuinely useful for you, and you
are far more likely to get results that make sense.
