GEOPATHIC STRESS - INTRODUCTION
What is Geopathic Stress?
Geopathic stress is one of those terms
that you just will not find in a dictionary, and it is indeed
difficult to define it simply. However, Jane Thurnell-Read in
her book Geopathic Stress: How Earth Energies Affect our
Lives
states:
“Geopathic comes from two Greek words:
geo meaning ‘of the earth’, and
pathos, meaning ‘suffering’ or
’disease’. The word geopathic literally means
suffering or disease of the earth, so geopathic stress is
the general term for energies emanating from the earth that
can cause discomfort and ill health in human beings.”
It is important to stress that we do refer
specifically to human beings in this discussion, as other
life forms may thrive on this type of energy, e.g. ants
or wasps.
If you are not familiar with the term earth
energies, or would like to know more about the underlying
causes of geopathic stress, please refer to the section
dedicated to Earth Energies.
What are the causes of geopathic stress?
As mentioned elsewhere on the site, geopathic
stress is generally related in some way to a physical
disturbance in the Earth’s structure. In addition to a range
of naturally occurring phenomena, such as fissures in the
earth’s structure, underground streams of water and gas or
mineral deposits, geopathic stress may be connected with a
whole range of sources such as:
• Explosions, quarrying, tunnelling etc
• New roads, railways, construction
sites, deep foundations especially with steel footings,
lampposts, cabling, power stations, sub-stations,
water mains etc
• Military bases
• Old battle grounds and scenes of trauma
• Communication masts
• Emissions from all sources (manmade),
mobiles, TVs etc
• Ring main wiring
• Energetic gridlock of the earth grids
• Even building an extension to your
own home can seriously upset the balance of the energies
– many consultants find that this
is the pivot point where the energies changed for the worse
Effects of Geopathic Stress
• Seems to impede the effective action
of the immune system, as the body is unable to recharge
and repair effectively, especially at
night
• Conditions such as ME often have
a strong relationship to GS
• While we don’t believe at
this time that GS is a cause of cancer etc, it certainly
seems that many cancer patients sleep,
work, sit for long periods over geopathically stressed areas
• Allergies
• Infertility and repeated miscarriages
• Sleep problems
• High absence rates in an office
or other commercial environments
(often in specific parts of the building)
• Children failing to thrive at school
because of poor concentration, lack of focus, hyperactivity,
lack of energy, tiredness, feeling sick or complaining
of headaches
• Lack of discipline in certain classrooms
at school
• Difficult for patients to recover
from serious conditions, or surgery if they are in a geopathically
stressed area, ward, bed
• Therapists may find that treatments
are not as effective as they would expect
Signs of geopathic stress
Geopathic stress can detected in a number of
different ways, from dowsing to monitoring possible sufferers
with bio-resonance equipment, or the use of magnetometers, but
one of the easiest ways is by simple observance. Animals and
their behaviour can give considerable guidance as to the
presence of geopathic stress, as can the prevalence or
condition of various types of plant life. Even the buildings
themselves may show symptoms. And, given that geopathic stress
is taken to refer to a phenomenon that is detrimental to human
heath, there are also signs in humans that may set alarm bells
ringing.
Please read on for specific signs and symptoms
of geopathic stress.
